This is a great hike for all skill levels. It is a beautiful drive in the country with mountain views. It is also on the blue ridge parkway with other great hikes nearby.

This is one of my favorite spots. It is about a 15 minute drive. It is perfect for walking, with a paved sidewalk around the entire lake. In the summer you can rent kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle up boards or play mini golf. There is also a pool open to the public that overlooks the lake. There is free public access to volleyball/ tennis courts and a gated playground. Ice cream, coffee and other treats are available in the yellow building near the circular auditorium.
Our family enjoys sitting on the back porch with our treats in the rocking chairs overlooking the lake.

This is a very special place in the Great Smokey National Park. The history is rich and you can fully submerse yourself in nature while getting a taste of what it was like to live during colonial times. Elk and other wildlife roam the area. If possible, I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid crowds.

If possible, I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid crowds.
We love to go tubing in the Great Smokey National Park at Deep Creek. Tube rental is easy and affordable and the tubing is very relaxing with a rushing creek. Please remember to secure / waterproof all valuables/ glasses etc. There is a high chance you will flip over! While you are there check out the sites in Bryson City, a very quaint town.
