We love this new little sushi joint. It just opened over across the street from the VINE HILL SAFEWAY. The restaurant is small and cozy. The food is fresh and well priced for sushi. You can bike, walk take bus or drive. It's about 2 miles.
Just turn right on to ALHAMBRA and it will be on the left in the shopping center that is up an inclined drive across from Vine Hill Shopping Center.
You can take bus 16 headed towards CONCORD BART. The stop at our street corner.

I stumbled across this after visiting the JELLY BELLY FACTORY. It is a small store where they sell small batch OLIVE OIL and VINEGAR. There are delicious samples in their store and they will tell you the nutrition value of each fresh crop of Olive Oil. I bought oil and vinegar for everyone on my Christmas List and i never buy it anywhere else!

This Park has restrooms, ample grass for soccer, running, baseball, basketball, tennis courts up the stairs, playgrounds, covered picnic areas and BBQ pits.
This is an easy bike ride or walk from our house. We have tennis rackets and bikes if needed.

This is a Pleasant Bike Ride from our house. The park has large grass areas, baseball fields, a park and trails for walking and biking around the small lakes. (ponds)

There's a small parking lot on the left on the corner of Alhambra and Franklin Canyon Road towards the downtown area.
There is a hike with good inclines and views up Mt. Wanda.

This is a nicely paved trail with great views from the cliffs over the Marina. Snake Road was a road from Martinez to Port Costa. There is a point now where the road is closed to vehicles and only bikes and foot traffic allowed.
You can drive All the way down Alhambra Avenue towards the Downtown and turn left on Escobar. Then turn right on CARQUINEZ SCENIC DR and follow it past Rankin Park and the Community Pool and Park. (Rankin Park is also a very fun park with walking trials and artistic play structures.) You'll pass the St. Catherine of Sienna Cemetery and then up the hill you will find the trial head.

Walking through the majestic REDWOOD GIANTS in Muir Woods is an inspiring experience. If you are a nature lover this is destination you will not want to miss. It is worth the drive.
