Republic Bar is very popular with all ages. It has live music every night and café style meals. It also has a beer garden which is popular on warm nights which we look forward to in Tassie. The venue would be approx. 3 blocks from the cottage.

Iconic Mount Wellington provides visitors to Hobart with magnificent views of Hobart and beyond, fresh springwater, be prepared for unexpected weather as it can have snow even in summer and it is very windy most days. You can drive to the top or catch a bus.

Iconic Mount Wellington provides visitors to Hobart with magnificent views of Hobart and beyond, fresh springwater, be prepared for unexpected weather as it can have snow even in summer and it is very windy most days. You can drive to the top or catch a bus.
This is something you shouldn't miss. The airwalk is situated near the Huon River and is 40 metres above the ground. We have been there many times with interstate visitors and our grandchildren. The walk up to the top of the airwalk is steep however there is a vehicle available if you need assistance. Walking above the forest canopy is a fantastic experience as long as you are not frightened of heights. When you get to the end the view over the canopy to the Huon River and beyond is magnificent. There are no words to explain the experience. Time permitting you can drive to Hastings Caves and thermal pool for swim which is a little oasis in the middle of the forest.
