If you decide to have a little bite, the ‘Foodhallen’ is your place. It is a bit overpriced, but you are there for the experience also. It is around 15 min walking from my place. It opened in ‘De Hallen Amsterdam’ – a newly renovated tram depot – in October 2014. You can still see the tram tracks in the ground of the building. The concept was inspired by indoor food markets like the ‘Torvehallerne’ in Copenhagen, ‘Mercado de San Miguel’ in Madrid and the ‘Borough Market’ in London. Wander around in the large loft-like space and discover the very best “culinary Amsterdam” has to offer. The best Thai food restaurant in town. Make sure to go to the Snackbar restaurant (There are two Bird restaurants opposite to each other). The idea of the snackbar is that you order, eat, pay and leave. There are 4 tables which will be shared by different people, expect stranger's to sit next to you:)
Their green curry and Pad Thai are exceptional. Fish cookies (Vis koekjes) are also very good starters. Meal no.37 is also very good :)

Beautiful view. Quiet. Not touristic at all. good service. Good coffee. The restaurant defines itself by an international cuisine, extensive winelist and a large sunny terrace on the Amstel river.

This place is awesome, best pizza in Amsterdam. The great ingredients they use with awesome skills and a real wood fired oven make classic pizzas so good. The wine chart is well picked and worth your time as well as the deserts

Chic place to visit, it is usually very crowded so make sure you have a reservation upfront. The menu is reasonably priced at around €33.
I would come here for drinks.

Authentic and delicious flavors. Terrific for a group up to 8 or 10. If you haven't had hotpot before they will walk you through the process. Highly recommended to check it out!

Wonderful meal and awesome atmosphere! The walls are filled with pictures of mothers and grandmothers and the cutlery and plates are all brought by guests from their opening day. There are many tasty, traditional Dutch meals to choose from.

Also, I liked the option of “surprise” food, when you can choose type of the food, but kitchen gonna select what exactly they will cook you. Good option if you want something delicious, but can’t understand what exactly.

They have a good selection of beers for a very reasonable price. On Friday and Saturday nights can be very busy, but still lovely. People behind the bar are very friendly. Visitors are diverse ranging from students, expats to experienced locals. Definitely a place to visit.
