The natural beauty of the river and its many falls are enchanting. There is a small etho village there and don't forget to see Tesla's hydroelectric power rotor.
I like to call it a historical living artifact: see ancient Roman architecture, and how the locals adapted it over Splits long history. In the heart of Split enjoy the many cafes along the riviera. Tour it independently and meander through the ancient cellar and come up on to the emperor's throne room or hire a guide. There are fees to climb into the bell tower of St. Dominic but the views of the city and islands are worth it.

There are trails you can follow leading the stunning views of large and smaller falls, an ethno village with local handmade products, which make great souvenirs, and an original turbine of the first European hydro electric plant designed by Nikola Tesla.

Sestanovac
Take the highway one exit toward Dubrovnik, exit 31. Toll is 3 kn
After the toll choose the direction of Sestanovac, turning right into the main srteet of the village. Continue to the traffic light noting a Studenac supermarket, pharmacy, butcher and cafes. At the light turn right , keep left as the Tommy supermarket is on the left with its own parking.

This outdoor restaurant may not be the fanciest, but it certainly is a favorite among the locals. Its specialty is the fresh local fish from local fishermen. This mid range restaurant is not for those who want cheap fast food. Local fish dishes and their fish soup along with homemade bread will not disappoint. A great place for a real relaxing fish meal.

This lovely cafe is on the river Cetina, just on the other side of the bridge from Omis. It is a relaxing place to enjoy good coffee, during the day and cocktails at night. They also serve a pretty good pizza and naturally ice cream. Lovely views of the delta of the river as it mixes with the Adriatic with old town Omis on the other side.

No I'm not telling you about the hotel, but it's rooftop restaurant. This place is not cheap but the food is good and the views breathtaking. A very romantic evening with views of the entire canyon, the fortress and Omis.
