Our Bunk House Hostel sits on the West Shore of Lake Champlain. We are on the Island Line Bike Path. You can bike to Beautiful Down Town Burlington, Day trip to Stowe, Jay Peak, or Montreal! This is a shared space! We also have separate listings for two private rooms that sleep 2 in queen beds under Ring Dang Doo and Ring Dang Doo Lake View. 7-person shared bunk room at the Notch Hostel, a farmhouse-turned-hostel with shared/private rooms and communal bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and grounds. This is a hostel dorm room; you will be sharing this room with other guests. All single twin beds; no bunk beds! 3rd floor. This room used to be a crash pad for the workmen who built Loon Mountain ski resort. Before that it was part of a barn that was later redone and connected to the main house.

Earl Shaffer, known as the first recorded thru-hiker or “the crazy one,” originally completed the Appalachian Trail in 1948 northbound, followed by a southbound thru-hike in 1965, and one final northbound thru-hike in 1998.
