Hungry Mother Island is a unique three bedroom cabin on its own island surrounded by Hungry Mother Creek at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA. Located off the Back of the Dragon Trail & bordered by Hungry Mother State Park along with George Washington & Jefferson National Forest. Nearby multiple wilderness areas, superb mountain stream fishing, small lake fishing, swimming area & beach, wildlife management areas & miles of trails offer tons of natural amenities and outdoor opportunities.

NO CLEANING FEES. NO TO DO LISTS BEFORE CHECKING OUT. NO PET FEES. Cozy, private one room cottage (with bathroom), run by a loving, easy-going, non-judging family. Cottage measures 12' x 24' (total of 288sq. feet). Very relaxed environment. Flat rate of $50.00. UPDATE: Deck is now enclosed with old window panes. Super cozy. Has a sink with hot/old water, a hot plate, large toaster oven, and utensils. I am am still putting finishing touches on it, but available for use. Pictures soon.

Oak Leaf Bungalow in Damascus

Hurricane Helene caused damage to many trails including the Creeper, which is closed from White Top thru Damascus, altho the section near Abingdon is open. Most roads open. Our Bungalow is intact. Electricity & water are restored. Please email with any questions. The bungalow is walking distance to the center of town. We're just 15 minutes from Abingdon. The house is cozy and we have a great yard for kids and dogs. Our landline phone has unlimited long distance and we have Wifi and Roku TV

King suite on the Creeper Trail and river!

The Barn House property is located directly on the Virginia Creeper Trail and right on the river! This unit is the downstairs to the main house. It is a spacious studio area with microwave and mini fridge, no kitchen. The unit has a separate entrance and is located on a side road with low traffic. There is a large yard across the street where kids can play! Directly bordering the yard is the Virginia Creeper Trail. Easily ride your bike to downtown Damascus or the Damascus brewery!

Campside Cottage--a vacation retreat located across from Camp Burson at the entrance of Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia. Relax around the campfire, hike or bike the many trails, lounge on the beach with a good book, or cast your line to catch a big one! Enjoy the beautiful views of the Appalachian mountains while paddleboarding or kayaking Hungry Mother Lake. Don't forget to go shopping or sample the restaurants of America's Coolest Hometown! And there really is quite a lot of bluebirds and finch to see in the spring and summer! Expect the coziness of the fireplace to wrap around you in the cool of the fall and snow of the winter. New construction. 20 minutes to Grayson Highlands, kayaking and Virginia Creeper bike trail also nearby!

You will relax and reconnect in this beautiful valley nestled in the Southwest Virginia mountains. Sit on the porch and soak up those mountain views. Relax in the hot tub and count the stars. Reconnect with your spouse as you unplug from the hustle and bustle. Rest, laugh, enjoy! The cabin is located on a working family farm. You can purchase beef, pork, and chicken to cook while you’re here or bring a cooler and take some home.
