Gemini is a three-story chalet that boasts an enviable location only 200 meters (220 yards) from the Matterhorn Express base lift station. Tucked against a beautiful rocky hillside with plenty of morning sun, the balconies and terraces provide panoramic views of Zermatt and the surrounding mountains. After a day on the slopes, come back to Chalet Gemini’s private hot tub or sauna and relax in true alpine style. There’s even a massage room should you need to ease tired après-ski muscles (ask your dedicated concierge for rates and details) . Inside the chalet, wood and stone create a warm and inviting ambiance. The home is updated with the latest technology, including flat-screen televisions, 100+ satellite channels, as well as geothermal heating to reduce the chalet’s carbon footprint. A generous catered option is available, including cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, gourmet dinners, champagne and more. Divided between the first and second (European) floors, the chalet’s five bedrooms comfortably sleep up to ten guests, and are furnished with plush duvets, satellite televisions and DVD players. In several of the rooms, the large double beds can be configured as two twin beds upon request. Three of the bedrooms enjoy private balconies, and two have jetted bathtubs in their luxurious ensuite bathrooms. The Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run provides a street level tunnel which promptly leads you to an elevator built inside the mountain. From the elevator it is a two minute walk to the property, and you can leave your skis and boots in the tunnel’s ski room. The villa is laid out around a main floor with living and dining areas that feature portable seating and even a table that can be raised or lowered as you wish. Climb the stairs or take the elevator to the mezzanine level to find the fully equipped kitchen and a bar area. Each of the three bedrooms at this luxury property has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. There is one bedroom on the main level, one on the mezzanine and one master suite that takes up the entire top floor of the villa. While no cars are allowed in Zermatt, you’ll hardly need one as the villa is close to ski lifts, shopping and dining. Heinz Julen Loft is only a 2-minute walk from the Omnia Hotel lift and an 8-minute walk from another ski lift.
