Quiet rural setting overlooking the Mahurangi River ,Te Kapa inlet and farmland .Lots of native bush and wild bird life .Perfect retreat to relax and read Matakana area has wineries ,restaurants ,art galleries ,beaches ,regional parks and a farmers market . As it is West facing we are often treated to spectacular sunsets. The apartment is spacious with a sitting room and is separated from the main house by a double garage . We are down a 2 km gravel road but the views are worth the drive.di

The Store | Matakana

Sept 25 | The store has just had some upgrades to make your stay more comfortable while still in keeping with an upcycled rustic shed on a rural property 3km from Matakana - ply interior, concrete floors covered with jute rugs and kilims, and a covered outdoor space to relax and bbq. A rustic country theme which will not suit guests wanting new and modern. Our linen bedding, hand loomed cotton towels, handmade ceramics and Real World products add some luxury. We have Starlink to enjoy Netflix

This modern guesthouse with a 5 metre stud has a large mezzanine bedroom with a super king bed and two singles, open plan living/dining/kitchen area with extensive decks and concrete floors throughout. This is a comfortable,small fully contained stand alone Studio in a farm setting.Situated nearby to beautiful beaches, and the Tawharanui Regional Park where you can take bush walks and trails.On dusk you are able to spot kiwi in the Regional Park, which is very special.If you are attending a Wedding here in Tawharanui this is a perfect location being so very close to the Venue.Ideal for cyclists also as there is a large barn where you can leave your bikes securely and dry.

A private and peaceful Hot Tub area is available for your use. "Southwind" is a small rural property surrounded by farmland and other lifestyle blocks. We are 15 mins drive on sealed roads to amenities in both Mangawhai and Wellsford, 8 mins to the Te Arai surf beach turnoff and 12 minutes to the Te Arai Links course.

Our space is great for travelers who enjoy wineries, breweries, cafes, beaches, walks, cinema (boutique), Saturday markets, Goat Island and a variety of places to visit and explore within easy distance. Nearby is the ferry for a day at Kawau Island. The downstairs studio is private but we are close by and pleased to help and chat if you choose. Warkworth has large grocery stores and shopping but we have a great new grocery shop and a local pub within walking distance.

Sheep, dogs, ducks and birdlife share the property with you as well as the occassional peacock harem.
