Native American prayer circle surrounding a bronze sculpture of an eagle in flight. Hiking trails along river & also to the top of Eagle Hill offering incredible scenery.

This is a beautiful place to stretch your legs especially if you choose to walk the beautiful, paved river trail from town (at the end of Railroad St) out to the park. This is just under a mile walk one-way, otherwise you can drive there from highway 550 north of town to Riversage Dr. There are hiking trails laced through the adjacent sagebrush hills across the road from the eagle statue culminating in incredible views from the top of Boot Hill. Dennis was a famous actor (Gunsmoke) and longtime Ridgway resident who generously donated the land for the park to the town.

Weaver was a TV actor on Gunsmoke, McCloud, and a suspenseful movie called, ”The Duel.” The sculpture is dramatic.

This is a magical place of reflection and relaxation dedicated to the memory and vision of actor/ environmentalist Dennis Weaver. This 60-acre public park is a permanent wildlife preserve along the lush Uncompahgre River corridor and is at the entrance to Dennis Weaver’s eco-friendly RiverSage Subdivision surrounded by 130 acres of open green space including the park. Within the park are miles of winding hiking and biking trails with spectacular mountain and river vistas. One of the most notable features is an enormous cast-bronze American Bald Eagle soaring flight, the sculpture crowns a tower of dry-stacked boulders. There are picnic tables along the River.
