For whatever brings you through/to Oregon, stay at Mama J’s comfortable, peaceful, safe and convenient spot. Portland is just ten miles away, the closest beaches, Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood are all about an hour, and there are numerous hikes from the forest right down the street to Silver Falls and beyond. We are within walking distance to a grocery store, pubs, small restaurants, and the Saturday Cedar Mill Farmers Market. Close by is the entrance to Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks, with 80 miles of trails.

The Treharne Trailhead is a great open concept second story studio to stop at for the night or spend a few days exploring. Located in historic Forest Grove and walking distance to restaurants, coffeeshops and Pacific University, this guesthouse has the unique offering of a mini pottery wheel! 5 min from McMenamins, 35 min from Portland, and just over an hour to the beach. Try your hand at mini pottery, do some wine tasting, get local snacks at our summer farmer's market, hike in the forest, and go out on Hagg Lake. Our quiet retreat is close to just about everything!

Studio in Wine Country

Our farmhouse is in a quiet rural setting. Public transportation is not available. Uber and Lyft service the area. Wineries, the city of Forest Grove and Pacific University are with in a few minutes drive. It is 50 minutes to the beach and 30 minutes to Portland. The studio is located in the basement of our home and has a private entrance. The accommodations include a queen bed, a twin hide-a-bed, sitting area, studio kitchen and full bath.
