Footbridge Farm Cabin

Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Tranquility & Vistas on the Farm in the Guest Barn

When you arrive at our 16 acre farmstead and enter the Guest Barn, you'll notice the construction materials which were salvaged from a nearby barn and corncrib. The timbers from these buildings were torn down, moved to our farm and rebuilt into a smaller “new” barn. It truly represents a real farm experience you can feel. While here, you'll slow down and enjoy the tranquility. Walk around the farm, make friends with a cow, watch barn kitties play, while gazing across the vast farm vistas.

The Barn Loft

The Barn Loft, located in NE Iowa, is just a short drive from some of the best trout fishing in this part of the state! It is a full Loft Space (1500 square feet) above this Timber Framed Barn built by Wally and Traci. Here you have access to your own rooms, kitchen, and more. Whether you're a large family, or a couple just trying to get away for a few days, The Barn Loft is perfect for you and your loved ones. There are miles of hiking trails and private streams. Ask about hunting.

The Night Deposit

Deposit yourself! Bank built in 1917, just 10 minutes on blacktop from Toppling Goliath Brewery. Located in Frankville Iowa and just a few miles up the hill from the Yellow River. Queen bed in one bedroom, and a futon in the main space. Full kitchen stocked with pancake mix and sausages. City Park is four blocks away or Nintendo 64, electric guitar and keyboard, or board games for rainy days. Also feel free to play whatever music you find, just return it. Large backyard and hammock.

Paint Creek Place

Stay next to beautiful Paint Creek in the heart of Iowa's Driftless Region. Guests can choose from a queen bed or double futon upstairs in the main living area. We also have a queen air mattress available. Enjoy the scenic view of one of Iowa's best trout streams from the house or adjacent green space. Take a 5 minute drive to Yellow River State Forest, and enjoy close access to other public hunting and fishing areas, Effigy Mounds, Pike's Peak, and the Mississippi River.

Little Red School House

The Little Red Schoolhouse is located in a remote and serene area of Allamakee County. It is steps away from one of Iowa’s natural trout streams Patterson Creek, the recreational playground of the Upper Iowa River, and over 1,000 acres of wild prairie and woodlands managed by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. The Little Red Schoolhouse is surrounded by natural beauty and can provide a quiet refuge free from all distractions. We are excited for your stay!

Quiet country feel, with a quick and easy drive to restaurants. Refurbished shed with 4 bedrooms, 1 bath, full kitchen, ready for your getaway. Mobility accessible. Located within 20 minutes of the Mississippi River, trout fishing streams, hiking, skiing, hunting, golf, and numerous other outdoor activities. Towels, bedding, and basic kitchen utensils provided. Berry Hill Flat sits perched on a bluff above Trout River Valley. Trout live in beautiful places and so do we! The Flat offers a king bed in the bedroom, full bathroom, full kitchen, living room, twin bed, and private ground floor entrance. It is the lower level of our beautiful log home nestled in the walnut trees. Minutes to Decorah, Waukon, or the trout stream in the Valley below.
