We have private river access for fishing from our garden, scenic walks and cycle rides from the door step, & excellent local pub within 15 min walk. Perfect for the nature lover or just to spend a relaxing day on the beach, only 2 minutes away. Visit Minsmere, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Snape, Southwold, Framlingham, Orford and many more, all on our doorstep!

Crane Lodge-Secluded 1 bedroom stay near the coast

Crane Lodge is in a private garden set back from the main house in a secluded wooded area 5 minutes from Orford. This is a perfect peaceful retreat for those looking for a getaway amongst nature on the Suffolk Heritage Coast - a perfect base to explore nearby Snape, Aldeburgh and Southwold. Recently renovated with mezzanine living, guests have the entire Lodge to themselves with a private entrance, terraced area for outside dining/bbq and off road parking. We also welcome up to two dogs.

Situated in the rural idyll of the Alde River valley in coastal Suffolk, it is handily located for the RSPB nature reserve at Minsmere and the coastal attractions of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the concerts at Snape Maltings, and Framlingham castle. Located on a small family farm of 40 acres, there are plenty of dog walking opportunities on local footpaths, surrounded by horses, cattle and ducks.

The Cabin is a timber building constructed from reclaimed and sustainable materials and heated by a cosy log burner. This Suffolk pink cottage, built in 1830, is located in a great position at the north end of the high street within easy reach of the independent shops, eateries, and the wonderful shingle beach stretching to Thorpeness. Interiors retain all the old world charm with low ceilings and diamond lattice windows through the cosy living room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor; two doubles and two singles on the first floor with the family bathroom, plus an outside cloakroom.
