The Ghibli Museum and Inokashira Park are each about a 15-minute walk, making the area convenient for sightseeing. From Mitaka, the Chuo Line reaches Shinjuku in as little as 12 minutes on the Rapid Express (17 on the Rapid). Mitaka is also the Sobu Line’s starting station, so travelers with large luggage can board comfortably from the first stop. Nearby: drugstore 1 min and 7-Eleven 5 min.
