The Carriage House: Beautiful Farmland Views.

The Carriage House is the second floor of our cedar stables that was turned into an apartment years ago. It has been completely redone and professionally decorated to make it a cozy + luxe retreat with beautiful views. While we no longer use the stables to house animals we still keep a few head of cattle + sheep in the pasture for your enjoyment. Historic Amish homestead Barn loft apartment

The Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead is the oldest restored Amish property in Berks County, bought by Immigrant Nicholas Stoltzfus (ancestor of all Stoltzfus descendants in America) in 1771. You will be staying in a peaceful and cozy barn loft apartment with a private entrance beside the stone house. You can enjoy the flower gardens and birds as you sip a cup of coffee that was roasted on site. Adjacent to the property is the Union Canal Towpath on the Tulpehocken Creek.

With plenty around to do, we are only 10 minutes from the nationally known, Port Royal Speedway. Close to state parks, ski resorts, fly fishing, hiking and kayaking. And local Amish produce and wineries just down the road!
