Immersive Chinese tea experience in a private tea house
Immersive tea tasting in our little tea house, featuring different tabletop flower arrangements and aromatherapy every week!. There will be Chinese style tea art demonstrations and on certain holidays Guzheng ( Chinese musical instrument) performances. Guests will choose between black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, dark tea and scented teas from China at different tea tasting times. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China.

Hiking with Goats
A guided hike through beautiful lake and mountain scenery, hosted by Pickles and Peanut, French Alpine goat brothers! Their "parents" come too, to ensure you are guided on the less-busy but still human-accessible trails. On the two hour adventure we will: - Meet at Grafton Lake parking area next to Grafton Road. - Start with 10 minutes of intros and "Goat 101" to learn how to safely interact with Peanut and Pickles. - Walk around the lake. - Stop at viewpoints along the way, where we'll offer to take photos of you with the goats. - End back where we started. Private hike options include: - Customized trail route such as up to the lookout in our main photo, or to cool natural tree forts! - Special arrangements for a longer, more challenging hike to the summit of the iconic Mount Gardner. A few considerations: Families as well as dogs on leashes are welcome, but please note that Peanut and Pickles are still growing and their headbutt play behaviour may intimidate children and dogs. You are welcome to request dates, but these will be considered "private hikes". This adventure is "rain or shine"! The boys look adorable in their rain coats, so (pending a major storm) we'll enjoy whatever mother nature brings our way. The boys can't wait to show you their beautiful backyard!

Experience Glass Project
While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We can be flexible. Feel free to reach out to us to schedule a specific date and time or a private group if you don't see it on our calendar. Other things to note... Your pieces will be ready to be picked up in 24 hours. Shipping available with additional fee.

Learn how to make a bamboo fishing rod
A fly rod is built in the same way that bamboo grows. From the bottom, or butt, to the tip. You will remove a node from a 12' culm of Tonkin bamboo, using a small hack saw, as the first step in seeing how a custom 8' node-less fly rod is made. Then you will split one of 72 splints needed to form the tip or butt of the rod with a hammer and knife. You will scarf one splint to shape it for gluing. Fancy planing, shaping the cork handle, and silk wrapping will be demonstrated along with the final varnish dip. At the end of the class you are invited to cast a variety of rods that I have made with a casting lesson on the "green river" of my lawn. In 2 hours you will see how the rod is made but you will not build a completed rod -- my first rod took me 100 hours. Other things to note Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a favorite fly reel that you want to try on a finished rod bring it along.

Private Surf Lesson for two in the Morro Bay area
The lesson will start on the sand with a safety talk as well as an overview of surf conditions and techniques for how to stand up. After the briefing, we will run straight to the water where you will get over an hour of ocean time with the instructor. Most people don’t realize how tiring surfing can be so we have found an hour of paddling and surfing to be the most students can handle before they are too tired to continue progressing in one session. Our instructors will help guide you out to the line up as well as help push you into waves and coach your techniques. Catching a wave is one of the hardest things to learn in surfing so having the extra momentum of an instructor is extremely helpful. You will also have the constant watch of an ocean professional to make sure you’re not only learning correctly but safe the entire time.

Hiking the trails of SLO
Available on FB @HikeSLO805, DM there! I like to personalize hikes to everyone's specific needs (easy or hard trails - near the beach/oceanview, seeing the green hills-seasonal, waterfall/creekside, etc). From there, we set aside 1.5-2 hours and just hike and enjoy the scenery. I carry water, snacks, and any other necessities, and also double as a photographer. Sometimes we do quizzes on flowers/animals/insects seen (fun for kids). I also have nature books for local flowers, birds and the history of the area. We enjoy the views from the top for as long as you like, (we can eat, drink, take photos) before heading down the hill. I can also provide a copy of the trail map that we complete or send ideas for other local hikes (pls. ask ahead of time). The whole event is curated to your skills, wants and needs, so if someone likes flowers, we could focus on that aspect of the hike as well. *Since this is an outdoor activity, some trails might not be available due to extreme weather and/or changing conditions ** Please consider booking the private option when you reserve your hike, to ensure you and your group have a nice, private experience ***If the time/date isn't available, please message me so I can open the timeslot Please visit us on Facebook or IG for more information about bookings: HIKE SLO 805 or @hikeslo805
