Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Our charming bedroom has a queen bed, sofa, bistro table and chairs and is close to beach access at Southey Point as in our cover pic.The bathroom has a newly installed shower, washbasin and composting toilet. There is a closet and an outside deck space. Although the space doesn’t have a kitchen, there is a fridge, kettle, coffee maker and toaster for the convenience of our guests and continental breakfast items are provided. We look forward to welcoming guests to this idyllic part of the world.

Welcome to our Hillside Oasis! Enjoy your own private spacious coach house with an unbelievable view. One bedroom, one bathroom, hotplate, toaster oven, fridge, pull-out couch, living room, cute little wood burning stove. 5 minute drive to the cove/ferry terminal. Relax on your private patio after visiting the lakes/ beaches, or shopping in the cove. Wifi TV w/Firestick. Queen bed. Note we are a 45 min walk uphill from the ferry. Located in a quiet neighborhood we are close to amenities including, 8 min walk to grocery, drug, liquor stores, restaurant and chemainus own brewery. Enjoy a night out at the chemainus theatre or cruise the downtown streets exploring world famous murals and shops. Our suite has everything you will need, open concept kitchen/living room, sofa bed in living room, 2 tv's with Netflix + Bluesky Cable, WiFi. Laundry. Air conditioning.

This 1971 Airstream has been totally rebuilt into a super comfortable and memorable escape. It's a great couple's vacation, completely private on its own acre of land. There's a separate indoor heated bathroom and shower, plus an outdoor hot water shower and vintage bathtub built for two.

Welcome to our listing and the Cowichan Valley. We overlook Quamichan Lake, and are located midway between salt water at Maple Bay and the city of Duncan (each are a six minute drive away). We are also midway between Nanaimo and Victoria (1 hour drives). For bikers and hikers the Mt. Tzoulhalem (Kaspa Road) trailhead is 600m away (we provide bike lockup). Our rate is for 2 guests. Additional guests are $50 per night. Sorry, we're not child-proofed.

A countryside retreat overlooking pastures with both wildlife and horses. Enjoy a relaxing getaway at Prancing Pony located on a 37 acres farm kitty-corner to Hemer Provincial Park. The geodome lodging includes a queen size bed, and 3 piece bathroom. There's a microwave, mini fridge, sink, and outside is a BBQ. There's a deck to lounge in the sun, a gazebo sun shelter, and a fire pit. In the evening, frogs serenade you from the nearby pond.
