Deichman's new main branch is beautifully located in Bjørvika. In addition to many thousands of books, the library also houses a cinema hall, open workshops, cafes and plenty of space to rest, read and enjoy yourself alone or with friends and family. You can also attend events such as lectures, courses, author meetings and reading aloud to children.

One of Europe's most modern libraries has opened in Oslo. Oslo's new main library is located in Bjørvika near the city's iconic Opera House. It is a modern and dynamic library that contains not only Deichman's extensive book collections, but also a movie theatre, media workshops, gaming zones, lounges and a restaurant - among other things.

This is Oslo's new library (2020) and we are really proud of it! It is so nice with 5 floors of books and nice reading/working spots. It's quite popular, so be early!

The new main branch of the Deichman Library is beautifully located in Bjørvika, right by Oslo's Opera House. In addition to many thousands of books, the library contains a cinema, open workshops, cafés and ample space to relax, read and explore. The library also hosts lectures, courses, discussions, readings and activities for children. From the top floor, you have a great view of the Oslo fjord.
