Beirut's only remaining green space actually big enough to escape the traffic. Enter on the northeast side, about one third of the way up from Tayouneh circle.
This is one of the last big parks in Beirut that are left over. As so many places in this city, this place has as well a historical story. This park is located on the green line which used to separate the fighting neighbourhoods. After many years of being closed for any citizens, it is finally again open to the public. It is a wonderful place to have a walk or a run. Especially very early in the morning it is magical since you will see the sunrise behind the mountains and the mingling of all kind of different people to do sports.

Stroll down Badaro Main Street to the Tayyouneh Round-About and you’ve arrived to Beirut’s largest green space, remnants of the pine forest that once surrounded the city before it expanded to become the country's capital during the 20th century. Jog, read, suntan or have a small picnic, a bit of fresh air is good for your hair :) Tayyouneh 07:00AM - 07:00PM
