Mont Ventoux is the largest mountain in Provence and has been nicknamed the "Giant of Provence". It overlooks The Alps and the Rhône Valley from its elevation of 1912 m (6273 ft)

Climbing the "Giant of the Provence" either by car, bike or foot is a must while in the region. On good day you can see both Alps and Mediterranean Sea. Tour de France comes through here from time to time, so the roads are very popular for cyclists. Can be quite cold up top on windy days. Be aware that the access to the peak is restricted in the colder parts of the year. There are some scenic hiking trails all around. Bring sun screen, as the top is above treeline.
