Two of the best hikes in the Catskills are: Giant Ledge (3.2 miles out-and-back, moderately challenging) and Slide Mountain (6.2 miles, more challenging). But there are hundreds of others! Pick your degree of difficulty and head into the wild. We suggest going to alltrails .com and search Big Indian.

Steep but worth it. The highest peak in the Catskills and some of the most stunning vistas. Near the top, it's mossy and piney and gorgeous. Feels almost like out west.
