One of the many pleasures of Cape Town life is a stroll, jog or cycle along Sea Point's most famous landmark, the Promenade, bringing together, cyclists, dog-walkers, joggers, skaters. There is a outdoor gym en route, as well as kids' playground, a putt-putt course and even an Olympic-sized pool at the Sea Point Pavillion, you will also find innumerable restaurants and bars across the road.

The Sea Point Promenade is an attractive paved walkway that stretches from the Green Point Lighthouse to the other side of Sea Point, much loved by the locals and visitors. The walkway is flanked by lawns, popular for picnics and informal soccer or cricket games. It’s a fabulous place to walk, ogle passers by, or kick back and appreciate the cosmopolitan vibe. You'll have access to a few small beaches from the walkway.

I go for a sunset walk on the Promenade almost every night after work. To step it up, I would recommend hiring a bike from Up Cycles Sea Point (www.upcycles.co.za), only R80 for an hour as at November 2019. The business closes at sunset. A final bonus would be going for an ice cream at The Creamery Café Mouille Point for some of the tastiest ice cream in Cape Town.
