Take a tour with a scientist and learn about the ecology of the area. There are also lectures for adults and kids. It's a great organization.

Great place with multiple locations including one on top of Vail mountain. Perfect for the non-skier during winter and avid hiker and naturalist during summer. www.walkingmountains.org to see all their current programs, most of which are free!

Walking Mountains Science Center provides locals and visitors from pre-k to gray with opportunities to explore nature, gain a scientific understanding, and learn about the many wonders of our mountain environment through natural science and sustainability programs.

Walking Mountains is a natural science education facility open to the public and is a must see especially if you have kids. Right next to downtown Avon, but tucked away in a quiet valley. A LEED Platinum certified facility ofering a Nature center to learn about local flora, fauna, geology, etc. and programs for kids and adults. Nice selection of nature trails for all abilities and they offer off site excursions as well.
