Off the grid, but a ton of fun! Florida is filled with natural springs that no one knows about. Drive up to Weeki Wachi and take a kayak down the Crystal River. If you are lucky, you might even see a Manatee or two!

Weeki Wachee is a treasure and would make an awesome day trip. It used to be an amusement park that hosted a variety of shows and attractions. One of those attractions is a live underwater mermaid show that still runs today thanks to historic preservationists and passionate mermaid performers. It's actually very impressive to see performers swimming and acting in full mermaid costume under water. A theater is cut into the spring with a thick glass wall so that you can watch the performers. The spring itself is also a must-do. You can tube or swim down the river. There are manatees and plenty of other wildlife. The manatees are very peaceful and friendly - an experience in itself.
