This tiny little chapelle is perched 323 meters on a rocky outcrop above the little town of Mortain. Stunning views can be had from the look-out point across the countryside for many kilometers. On a clear day Mont Saint Michel can be seen. 'Hill 314' originally a German military look-out point in 1944 is to be found a 5 min walk away. Today it is a place to remember the many fallen soldiers, who died for their freedom. A memorial monument has been built just before the Chapelle.

Perched on its 323 m high rocky spur, it offers a panoramic view across to the doors of the Maine and Brittany region. Mont Saint-Michel can be seen on clear days. Tragic scene of the battle in August 1944 where numerous soldiers lost their lives for our liberty, it has become a place of remembrance with its memorial monument and one of the three French representations of General Eisenhower's coat of arms.
