One of the biggest markets in Seoul and located in the center of the city, Gwangjang was the first market to attract a lot of international visitors. It’s known for delicious street food such as buchimgae, a vegetable pancake, and mini kimbap (similar to a vegetable maki roll), which is so addictive that people call it “narcotic” kimbap. Though it’s tempting, don’t haggle with vendors over price, as the market’s fixed-price system makes it hard for individual vendors to offer items for less. Instead, ask for a bit extra with a smile!

It's the first market of South Korea, and is still popular among locals and tourists. Great street food and very vibrant atmosphere. Take time exploring the cloth market on the 1st and 2nd floor - it is simply amazing!

If you are not familiar with food from other countries, I do not recommend it for eat. If you like to try this is best local market in the Seoul that you can try all the different food in one place. You can eat many kind of 'Jeon' which is flat grilled food. People called 'Korean pancake' but it is not like pancake at all. It can be seafood, vege, meat. When they grill Jeon, they use oil so it is bit oily. 'DDuck bok i' is spicy rice cake. It is good for meal and snack. You can see 'Sun dae' next to DDuck bok I. It is Korean black pudding. If you do not eat food made with organs in your country, you will not be used to it. (Like sausage!) 'Deagutang' is cod fish soup. It is spicy and deep taste. Even you don't like the food in there, you can still enjoy this market. They have cheap clothes, traditional chips, Hanbok, take away Banchan(side dish) shops. You can also buy vintage clothes in the upstairs. I recommend 3floor (level 2) for buy vintage shopping.
